The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible has been out in the wild for a long time now, and now the publishers of the book have announced it is going to be re-released with a new cover.
The New Standard Version will be out this October for the first time in its nearly half-century history.
The new cover was spotted by The Christian Post, which notes that the cover design for the book was originally created for the World Heritage Site in Istanbul.
“I have always admired the book’s beauty, its history and its timelessness.
So, after much deliberation, I chose the cover art that best reflects the beauty of this book,” Christian publisher William E. Price Jr. said in a statement.
Price also said the cover would be designed by Christian illustrator Richard H. Kallenberg.
For those who are not familiar with the New Revised Version, it is a re-translation of the first half of the bible and is the authoritative translation of the entire Bible.
It’s currently being edited by New Testament scholar Michael Purdy, who is credited with coming up with the idea for the title.
In fact, Price said in the statement that he thought about the title a lot as he designed the cover.
“It’s the most beautiful cover that I’ve ever seen, with the right kind of art and the right story,” he said.
When asked if there were any new revelations in the Bible that he was hoping to include in the book, Price didn’t hesitate.
“I’m going to get as many as I can get in there.
The book is going on for another century and the story of Jesus will live on through all of us.”
The Bible Reading bible bible quotes Bible verses that have been translated into English, so the book is expected to be available for purchase through the Amazon store on October 15.
